Avoiding the crowd is a precondition for success in the business of investing. It is easy to say but hard to practice because we are psychological creatures and our brain is wired to stick with the crowd for our protection.
The hardest part of the resisting the crowd is getting uncomfortable with conflict. Differentiation from the mass will certainly lead to conflicts. In this case, the person has to assert his ideas, his goals and his point of view.
One way to avoid crowd mentality is surrounding you with friends or people who would challenge your ideas or opinions but of course in a constructive way.
Instead of trying to escape conflict, we should face the confrontations and so, we can enhance our self-confidence and become more comfortable with conflict.
Every one of us should be aware of his own self-interest and own conditions.
If we put our hard earned money in an investment we don’t want to risk it for a quick buck. Rather, we want to patiently watch its growth over a long time.
